Two Brothers named Viggo and Emil Hojgaard from the small village of Tollund were cutting peat in Bjaeldskovdal peat bog. One of the wives of the brother discovered the corpse while loading the peat on their carriages. The wife notified the police in Silkeborg and the remains were passed on to Professor P. V. Glob that examined the remains and presumed the body was over 2000 years old.
